WEISS Kunststoffverarbeitung (Germany) is investing$ 4.60 Million USD into the city of Győr in Hungary in the Plastics sector in a Manufacturing project. Weiss Hungaria plans the construction of a 10000sqm greenfield plant in Gyor, Hungary. The company wants to invest $4.6mln in the project. Weiss Hungaria is owned by Weiss Kunststoffverarbeitung (60%) and Hungarian CBSZ (40%). Source: Locomonitor
BEWAG (Burgenländische Elektrizitätswirtschafts-Aktiengesellschaft) (Austria) is investing$ 18.50 Million USD into the city of Janossomorja in Hungary in the Alternative/Renewable energy sector in a Electricity project. Austrian Wind Power and two private Hungarian individuals, started constructions of a $18.5mln wind farm in the village of Jánossomorja, Hungary. The investors will erect four, 2MW Vestas V90 wind-powered turbines. The turbines will generate an annual 17,000-20,000MW of electricity, enough for 6,000-8,000 homes. Source: Locomonitor
Schaffner Holding (Switzerland) is investinginto the city of Kecskemét in Hungary in the Electronic Components sector in a Manufacturing project, creating 100 jobs. Schaffner Group, a Switzerland-based manufacturer of electromagnetic compatibility components, will relocate its production to Hungary to lower operational costs. Schaffner is constructing the new factory near Kecskemt in central Hungary. Covering an area of 7,000 square meters the factory will start its operation next month. Schaffner is already present in Hungary and the new factory will create 100 new jobs, bringing the total up to 250. Source: Locomonitor

ProLogis (USA) is investinginto the city of Budapest in Hungary in the Real Estate sector in a Construction project. ProLogis will develop 20600sqm of industrial space in Budapest, Hungary, for UTi (Hungary) Logistics LLC. The new facility will be built at the ProLogis Park Budapest-Sziget. The business park currently consists of five buildings totaling 80800sqm of space. At full build-out, ProLogis Park Budapest-Sziget will comprise ten buildings totaling over 170700sqm. IGM Robotersysteme (Austria) is investing$ 1.25 Million USD into the city of Győr in Hungary in the Industrial Machinery, Equipment & Tools sector in a Manufacturing project. Austrian group IGM Robotersysteme, whose principal activities are the development, manufacture and sale of large scale robotic systems for electric arc-welding applications, will build a new plant in Gyor, Hungary. The group already owns a factory here but this decision follows a growing demand in the automotive sector. $1.25 million will be needed to manufacture the plant. Source: Locomonitor

  • Grawe's Sopron Bank Expands in Hungary (9 April 2008 )

    Hungarian Sopron bank, part of Austrian insurance company Grazer Wechelseitige Versicherung AG (Grawe), has opened its 14th office in Hungary's northwestern Mosonmagyarovar. The bank also plans to strengthen its presence in the western locations of Papa, Kormend and Ajkan. Sopron focuses on small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) and individual clients, offering the insurance products of Grawe as well. Sopron was set up by Austrian Bank Burgenland in 2003 and was acquired by Grawe in 2006. Source: IPA World

  • Bridgestone (Japan)

    invested $ 298.60 Million USD into the city of Tatabánya in Hungary in the Rubber sector in a Manufacturing project, creating 185 jobs. Bridgestone has opened its new fully-automated production facility at Tatabánya, Hungary. The $298 million complex is the first in Europe to feature Bridgestone’s fully-automated tyre manufacturing process. Production of high-performance and large-rim sized radial tyres for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles is scheduled to reach 8,000 units a day in 2009. Source: Locomonitor
